The Olympic Gold Medal Ryan Lochte responded to his alienated wife, Kayla this week, and apparently suggested that there was a “svik” in their marriage in the midst of their divorce case.
Kayla Reid made the position on social media last month showing a slide show with “reminders” in the middle of their divorce. However, the former swimmer pushed back on every notion that he was unfaithful in their marriage.

“I’m not cheating,” he told People Magazine in a story published on Tuesday. “After she (Kayla) served me divorce, I left I got out of the house, I got a new house. I lived in there alone, I went on with my life to tie to be happy again. I pursued her (Molly Gillihan), I asked her out. She was hesitant because she was like, ‘Aren’t you still married? I was like ‘No, I’m not, I’m divorced it’s over.’
“She gave me a shot and we hung out, and to be honest, I feel I found a best friend.”
Lochte said he “would never have a divorce,” but he admitted that he and Kayla had been “unhappy for a very long time.”
Last month, Reid and Lochte revealed that they were ready for a divorce after seven years of marriage. TMZ reported that Reid requested divorce earlier this year, a decision that came “after deep prayer and reflection,” she said.
“I keep marriage in the highest respect, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing and challenging seasons in my life. I’ve hesitated to share until I could do it from a place of healing – not from fresh, open wounds,” Reid wrote on Instagram at that time.

“Sometimes we face trials that we did not choose or see coming. And in these moments we are forced to make the most difficult decisions to protect our peace, our children and our future. I have understood that staying is not always the most loving decision anyone can make. For me was to leave was a love of love – for those around me and for myself.”
Lochte then went to Instagram and said the decision “has not been easy.”
“I will take a moment to acknowledge what Kayla shared. The past year has brought big changes to both of us as we have come to the difficult decision to end our marriage. I am deeply grateful for the life we have built together, and especially for the love we share for our three children,” he wrote on social media.
“Although this decision has not been easy, I think it is the right step towards peace and well-being for both of us. I remain obliged to heal, growth and co-parents with care and respect as we move on. Thank you to our family and friends for your continued support-it really means a lot when we begin this new chapter.”
The couple engaged in 2016, the same year Lochte was involved in a controversial incident at a gas station under Rio -ol. Lochte initially claimed that he and his teammates were robbed of gun, but it was decided that with the cannons they were actually security guards at a gas station where swimmers had urinated outside a bathroom. Lochte eventually lost four major sponsorships and the United States swam him for 10 months.
