Keegan Bradley looks almost ready to Captain the US in this year’s Ryder Cup after his coupling performance on Sunday to win the Travelers Championship with a stroke over Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley.
Bradley had the crowd at the TPC River Highlands in Hysteria on the 18th hole where he needed a birdie to win this last signature event of the PGA Tour campaign.
It was pretty surprising to see Bradley have this opportunity in the first place when Fleetwood built a three-shot lead on his way to Sunday, but he shot 2-over when his first PGA Tour victory continued to refer him despite being a top 20 golfer in the world.

Meanwhile, Bradley stepped up to the 18th tee box and shoots 1-Under, which was thanks to an absolute bomb on a putt from 64 feet drained on the 15th green. It gave him a stake for the lead at 14-Under for the tournament.
Bradley hit the perfect drive of 18 and stood up with a 138-yard approach, which he hoped to stay close to a birdie chance for the victory.
That’s exactly what happened when he looked at his shot all the way to the green as it jumped and stuck less than six meters from the cup. Fleetwood, just bogeyed par-3 16. To open the door for Bradley ended up with three-routing for bogey and pushed an eight-foot on his second attempt to save pairs and force an endgame.
When he saw Fleetwood missed it putt, Bradley stepped up to his ball to win and lowered it and let a big cheer with the many in the crowd.
“Of all the shots and all the putts I have hit, I think I will remember the most,” Bradley said at the CBS broadcast.

Fleetwood, on the other hand, was understandably “disturbed” after what happened on the field as he has the most top-10 finish on the PGA Tour without victory than any golfer in the last 40 years.
“I’m angry … It hurts,” he said after the round.
What made this such a significant match between Bradley and Fleetwood was because the Ryder Cup was on the horizon. It is held on Bethpage Black, and while Bradley is Team US Captain, Fleetwood is playing consistently on the European Ryder Cup team.
This was Bradley’s eighth PGA Tour victory, and if he wants to be a gaming captain in this year’s Ryder Cup, he certainly shows the coupling ability to do so. He went into this week as the world # 21 golfer in the official world gap franks. He will now be pushed into the Top 12 in the Ryder Cup positions with this victory at the TPC River Highlands.

While the top six in the position after the BMW championship earn an automatic bid for the Ryder Cup team, Bradley has authority to choose itself as Captain’s choice for the troop.
If Bradley plays in the Ryder Cup, he would be the first gaming captain since the legendary Arnold Palmer in 1963. The last captain to play for Team USA was Tiger Woods in the 2019 Presidents Cup.
