New York – Sabrina Ionescu matched her season high at 34 points to lead New York Liberty For a double-digit comeback over the Atlanta dream on Tuesday night and rebound from the team’s first loss of the season this weekend.
Despite Ionescus 20 first half points, New York drew with 17 points in the third quarter and pace to drop their second straight match after the Indiana fever gave the bill Wnba Master their first loss of the season Saturday night.

But Momentum quickly changed hands midway through the quarter.

“I think we didn’t play well, we didn’t have toughness, we didn’t have urgent,” said Liberty coach Sandy Brondello about the first half of the game. “I think we found our identity, we found some energy … We just have to play harder sometimes.”
New York had seven revenue for Atlanta’s three in the first half, but this identity crisis quickly faded behind another 14 points from Ionescu and Breanna Stewarts 11. New York picked up their 10. Victory this season with an 86-81 victory.

“We are really proud of the way we were fighting. And of course that game could easily have gone the other direction and us just kind of to give up and be frustrated, and I think you were able to see a team that stayed together, dug really deep and then kind of just found it out on the go,” Ionescu said after the match.

“I’m really impressed with our ability to do it because we haven’t been put in this situation this year – to go down the big and have to try to dig our way out of a hole and I think all these experiences will just help us as we continue to play into play and the season continues.”
Ionescu recorded a season high of 34 points against the fever on Saturday. She hit this brand again Tuesday night to mark the back-to-back 30-point game for the first time in her WNBA career.

Atlanta Rookie Te-Hina Paopao led The dream With 16 points, Allisha Gray 14, and Brionna Jones and Rhyne Howard added both with 13.
Atlanta went into the game tied with the freedom and fever of the Commissioner’s Cup game but Indiana’s cruel victory over Connecticut Sun Tuesday night got their place in the championship where they face Minnesota Lynx on July 1st.
