As promised, Samsung has begun to roll out Gemini support for his Galaxy buds 3 earplugs. It’s a free update and it’s easy enough to get and install. But there is a warning: You may need to install beta software on your phone.
Gemini does not run on the earbuds themselves – it’s too demanding to drive naturally – so it needs your phone or tablet to act as a messenger between your mouth and Gemini’s ears.
As 9to5Google reports, the updates currently appear to be exclusively for phones running one UI 8 on the top of Android 16. It’s factory fitted on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and on Galaxy Z-FLIP 7, but for Samsung Galaxy S25 Series a UI 8 is still a beta-ie. A pre-release version of the operating system, which while available (to a selected group of users) is intended for testing.
How to get gemini at Galaxy Buds 3 and Bud 3 Pro
If you have a Galaxy S25 series or older, the stable version of the One UI 8 software is only at the end of September 2025. However, there is a beta version, and from next week it will be available to multiple devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. and several A-SER.
Once you’ve got a UI 8 in progress, the next step is to check for software updates for your earplugs … and then pray. I am dramatic there, but only a little: the Gemini upgrade is reportedly “Wonky” and the results may differ from device to device.
If you have the update, now see a new “Google Digital Assistant” option at the top of the Voice Controls section in Samsung’s app. This allows you to create the Gemini integration with your smartphone or tablet.
