- There may be more more UI 7 betas before the final version reaches the Samsung Galaxy S24
- It could mean a launch in May
- Google can also advertise Android 16 in May, which would instantly make this update feel outdated
If you buy a phone in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, you not only get new hardware, you will also get Samsung’s latest software in the form of a UI 7, and while some older phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 will be updated in the end The wait be a long.
According to Leaker Tarun Vats, who posts on X, Samsung plans six betas of a UI 7 on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series before the finished version lands.
The third beta is out now, and Samsung has already confirmed that it is aiming to roll out the fourth beta next week. But according to VATS, we do not see the fifth beta until March or the sixth beta until April, which may mean that the finished version will not be rolled out until May.
Of course, we would take this with a pinch of salt, but another delicious – @universeice – has claimed that this schedule is accurate, so there is a great chance that we really wait so long.
A big upgrade that will soon be out of date
Hopefully this software update is worth waiting for. You can expect new AI features (though not all AI features found on the Samsung Galaxy S25) along with a redesigned home screen and a new camera front, so there should be a great deal to be stuck in.
Still, this is not just a long wait, but it would mean that a UI 7 – which is based on Android 15 – can come to the Samsung Galaxy S24 at about the same time as Android 16 debuting. We expect the next Android update to be launched either on Google I/O 2025 on May 20 or by June.
This big update could immediately feel dated if Android 15 arrives just in time to welcome Android 16.
