The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is unusual in many ways – not only is this a new addition to the Galaxy S line and a return of the long sleeping ‘edge’ name, it is also a phone that Samsung actually showed months before it was fully announced.
We first got an official look at the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge back on the Samsung Galaxy S25 launch in January, but only now – in May – has Samsung revealed the actual specifications and pricing of the device.
For a appearance of May’s short and cute Galaxy packet, look at our Galaxy S25 Edge Live blog, and then go and read our practical experience with Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge for our early thoughts and impressions.
Otherwise, read on for everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, including how much it costs when you can buy it, what its specifications are and how thin it really is.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Design and Display
- Just 5.8 mm thick and 163g
- Have a 6.7-inch screen
- Protected with Gorilla Glass Ceramics 2
We have widely known what the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge looks like for a long time, with Samsung’s January tosser showing a slim building, a flat screen, a stamp hole camera on the front and a double line camera on the back.
Now we know the rest. For starters, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is only 5.8 mm thick and weighs 163g. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus (which has the same size display) is 7.3 mm thick and weighs 190 g.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and its screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which is designed to be both thin and durable.
It has a titanium frame and it comes in a choice of titanium ice cream, titanium silver and titanium jetblack shades.
As for the screen, it’s 6.7 inches that – as mentioned above – do the same size as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus display.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Cameras
- 200MP main camera
- 12MP ultra
- 12MP front facing camera
One of the potential compromises with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is its cameras as it has only two on the back. But their specifications are not compromised where the head sensor is 200MP. In addition to wide -angle images, this is also capable of 2x optical quality zoom.
There is also a 12MP ultraicle, a 12MP front -facing camera and support for recording video in up to 8K quality.
As with other recent Samsung Galaxy S models, you will also find all sorts of AI tools here to help you take and edit photos. These include them as generative editing, which allows you to sweep changes to images and sounders who allow you to remove unwanted background noise from videos.
The Galaxy S25 edge also benefits from Samsung’s Providence Engine, which can help increase image quality.
Although there is a lot here, the edge still lacks a dedicated telephoto camera, which is something you usually get with a phone at this price.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Performance and Software
- Snapdragon 8 Elite to Galaxy Chipset
- 12 GB RAM
- A 3,900 mAh battery with 25W charging
Not surprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 elite for the Galaxy Chipset, like the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. However, it is no bad thing as it is a top-end chipset.
It is together with 12 GB of RAM and a choice of 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge also has a 3,900 mAh battery, which is quite small for a phone of this size, and is probably one of the compromises to get it so thin. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 has a slightly larger 4,000 mAh battery, but it has a much smaller screen. The equivalent size Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, on the other hand, has a 4,900 mAh cell.
Despite this, Samsung claims that the Galaxy S25 Edge will deliver all day life, but it will be interesting to see how good this requirement holds up when we set the phone through its pace for a full review.
Capacity aside, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is charged at 25W, which is a match for standard Samsung Galaxy S25, but not as fast as 45W Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25 Plus. There are also 15W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge of course runs Android with Samsung’s One UI Overlay, which includes features like Now Brief – which gives personalized orientations all day. For example, your morning briefing may include things like the weather and how well you slept (if you track your sleep).
Finally, Samsung promises that the Galaxy S25 Edge will receive seven years of security and operating system updates.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Early judgment
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which goes clean at the specifications, certainly sounds exciting. Our biggest concern here is the life of the battery, as despite Samsung’s insurance policies, it is hard to believe that it will really deliver all day life with such a small capacity.
Even if it does, it is unlikely to be competitive with other phones on this front. But it is not impossible that Samsung, through some software guide, has delivered really good stamina – we find out when we have tested the phone ourselves.
In addition to that, the lack of a telehole camera is a small disappointment, but expected, and at least 200MP head sensor sounds promising.
Elsewhere, the Galaxy S25 Edge sounds as good as the rest of the S25 series, just much thinner. Whether this slenderness will translate for sale to see.
