- Samsung is reportedly close to completing an appointment with confusion
- The deal could be advertised this year and see confusion replacing Gemini as Galaxy S26’s Standard AI Assistant
- What this would mean for gemini on Samsung -Phones are unclear
Right now, Google Gemini is standard AI assistant on Android phones, and Samsung in particular has strongly incorporated Gemini into his devices. But this partnership may not last much anymore.
According to a payment walled report on Bloomberg (via Android police), Samsung is close to ending an agreement with confusion that would see the latter AI assistant integrated into Samsung’s phones.
The deal could be announced later in the year, but it sounds like confusion will not appear on the best Samsung phones until early 2026, when Samsung apparently aims to send it by default AI assistant on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.

Deep integration
The deal would reportedly see Samsung pre-installing The Perplexity app on these phones as well as integrating its features into Samsung Internet. Apparently, there are even discussions to incorporate confusion technology into Samsung’s Bixby Assistant, although it sounds like there is less assurance that it will end up being part of the agreement.
In addition, Samsung and confusion have apparently discussed the construction of AI-driven operating systems with AI agents “that can utilize the functionality of confusion and a number of other AI assistants.” However, it sounds further away if it happens at all.
What this agreement would mean for Samsung’s partnership with Google is unclear. If confusion is sent as the default setting on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series – and presumably other Samsung phones – at least Gemini would be a little sideline.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean the Gemini features we’ve seen on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be absent; Instead, you may have a choice of multiple AI services.
If Samsung is really ready to announce this partnership this year, we need to have a clearer idea within a long time.
