Samsung has got a number of collapsible phones in the wings ready for later this year, but it is not clear exactly when we will be able to get our hands on them – and a new rumor suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip Fe can be the phone we are waiting for the longest.
According to the South Korean marketing market (via 9to5google), the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Fe – which is believed to be a cheaper flip phone setting – launching several months after the more expensive Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, expected in July.
The biggest problem is, according to the report, that Samsung is struggling to make enough chips for the collapsible. The company is said to be aimed at getting its own Exynos 2500 chip inside the Galaxy Z Flip Fe, but problems continue with production.
The same production questions are reportedly part of the reason why the Samsung Galaxy S25 series all went with Qualcomm Chips. The Exynos slices of silicon missed these flagship phones, and it looks like they may be missing out on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

While Samsung continues to work away at Exynos 2500 production, it sounds like the development of Exynos 2600 is now also well underway (something that has been rumored in the past). Samsung’s goal is to make sure this next series is ready for the Samsung Galaxy S26 line-up.
In the past years, Samsung has mixed the chipset used in its phones, depending on the region and model: Exynos chips are cheaper for Samsung to include, although they typically do not quite match the power of Qualcomm Snapdragon and alternatives.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Fe, we expect it to come with the same screen as the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but a less powerful camera and overall specifications. The phone is even teased early by Samsung himself.
None of this is certain – Samsung’s plans remain in the air for its release plan 2025. The well -known tipster @maxjmb suggests that Galaxy Z Flip Fe can actually start next to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, probably in July.
