With the Samsung Galaxy S25 series now here we look forward to Samsung’s next big smartphone launch, which is likely to consist of the brand’s 2025 foldable.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be the most high-end of these, although there are also reports of a tri-fold model in the works that may have beaten it. Either way, the Z Fold 7 is probably an impressive phone.
We don’t know for sure about it yet, but leaks and rumors have revealed some possible specifications, features and other details so you’ll find all this below.
Cut to the hunt
- What is it? The next big screen Samsung foldable
- When is it out? Probably July
- How much does it cost? Probably up to $ 1,899.99 / £ 1,799 / AU $ 2,749
Probably landing in July
- Based on previous form it is likely to be launched in June
- Price is reportedly unchanged from last year
So far there is no news about exactly when the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 may be launched, but given that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 were both announced in July by their release year, July is our best guess by phone Shipment either at the end of July or in August.
We can say with certainty that this phone is in the works anyway, especially since several sources have come across code names and model numbers for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Plus, Delicious @pandaflashpro that production of the phone starts in May, which would probably work for A July launch.
As for the price, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will, according to a source, cost the same amount as its predecessor. That would mean a starting price of $ 1,899.99 / £ 1,799 / AU $ 2,749.
Can you trust these rumors?
Based on previous form, we are pretty sure of a launch in July or August to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
We would take the price rumor above with a pinch of salt, as it so far only comes from one source. But given that the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series was mostly identical to the S24, there is a good chance that prices will remain the same here as well.
A larger screen and a slimmer building
- Reports suggest that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have larger screens than Z Fold 6
- It can also be a little slimmer
- The crisis could also be less this year
Under an earnings call (via @jukanlosreve), Samsung himself said that its upcoming collapsible phones would have “improved form factors, durability”, so we can probably expect some changes in designing and building the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
As for exactly what is changing, we heard from a source that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have the same screen sizes as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It would mean an 8-inch foldable screen and a 6.5-inch coverage screen, up from 7.6 inches and 6.3 inches for the coincident and coverage screens on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 respectively.
While we would take this with a pinch of salt, another source has recently repeated the claim that Z Fold 7 will have Z Fold Special Edition size screens.
We have also heard that Samsung is not considering putting a digitizer on the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s screen, which may allow the phone to be about 1.5 mm thinner but would also mean, therefore need charging), which without without A digitizer on the display, the pen would instead have to generate an electric current to interact with the screen.
Finally on the design front, Leaker @pandaflashpro has claimed that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have a smaller screen fold than its predecessor and a smoother and durable hinge mechanism.
Can you trust these rumors?
Until we have seen Renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, we would take any design requirement with a pinch of salt. But with Samsung himself, who says that at least some of its foldable will be in for a change, there is a good chance that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be among them.
There is also a reasonable chance that the allegations of larger screens are accurate as more sources have said as much.
A large 200MP upgrade
- Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have a new 200MP main camera
- There is no news yet on the other cameras
So far, the only Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 -Camera -We hear that we have heard that it will have the same 200MP main camera as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which would be a quite upgrade of the 50MP main camera in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 .
There is no word yet on the other cameras, but for reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition Both have a 10MP telecamer with 3x optical zoom, a 12MP ultra-wide with a 120-degree vision field, a 10MP -Crophalm camera and a 4MP camera on the collapsible screen. So there’s a good chance that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will stick to at least some of these.
However, Z Fold 6 uses a sub-display camera for the 4MP sensor, while on Z Fold Special Edition, the lens is not hidden under the screen, so it is left to see if the Z Fold 7’s camera will be underweight or not.
Can you trust these rumors?
Since only one source has really shared any camera information yet, we would remain skeptical until we have heard more, but we definitely hope that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 gets the Remove 200MP camera.
An elochipset
- Probably used a Snapdragon 8 -elitchipset
- Could have 12 GB of RAM, like the current model
According to a source, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset, which is what we would expect as that is what the Samsung Galaxy S25 series uses. If that happens, it must be significantly more powerful than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
However, the same source says to expect 12 GB of RAM and a choice of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB storage, all of which are the same specifications as the current model.
Another source has similarly said to expect a faster chipset than Z Fold 6, and both they and @pandaflashpro have pointed to a larger steam chamber (which can help with sustained performance) and better speakers.
We haven’t heard anything about the battery yet, but for reference Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 4,400mAh, so it’s probably at least so big.
Can you trust these rumors?
We would be very surprised if the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 did not use a Snapdragon 8 elite chipset as it is the next model from the chipset used by Z Fold 6 and as it is also used by the Galaxy S25 series.
The storage and steam chamber requirements also sound credible, and unfortunately it also claims that it will stick to 12 GB of RAM, as even the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has only so much in most regions.
