- Z Fold 7 could have ‘industry-first’ technologies
- It’s not clear what these upgrades could be
- The foldable is expected to debut in July
We are ready and are waiting for the magnificent reveal of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to happen sometime in July – and the expectations levels rose just a notch based on a new leak.
According to the normally well-informed @universeice, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will bring “industry-first technologies” that separate the flagship folding phone from the rest. “Samsung finally became serious,” adds the tipster.
Unfortunately, there are no other details given, so we are left to speculate on what this can mean – as more in a moment. This suggests that the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 can be a more significant upgrade than we expected.
Presumably, Samsung will not go crazy and attach something like a robotic arm or a holographic projector for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
What could ‘industry-first’ mean?

There are several key areas where the Galaxy Z Fold 7 plausible could break new soil. The first is with the display: It may come with an 8.2-inch main display that is significantly larger than the one on its predecessor, and it can also be the first foldable to come with a bundled stylus.
Then there are form factor and material upgrades that are possible. We have already heard that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may have added titanium in the cabinet, for extra durability and ease, while also the thinnest Samsung foldable to date. Other rumors have also pointed to improved dust resistance.
With folding, the crisis is always a concern. It may be that Samsung has found a way to make the crisis almost invisible, while there may be upgrades to the collapsible hinges in terms of their durability and their lifetime. New battery technology is also rumored, but without detail attached.
And don’t forget the cameras. Leakies have suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 sets new standards for cameras on a foldable phone, and can even go up to 200MP for the primary camera. These would all be welcome upgrades and we could see more of them together when the phone gets its magnificent disclosure.
