We’ve covered Samsung’s RGB LED TV plans before: The company showed up an 8K RGB Micro-Out TV on CES 2025. It was a 98-inch model, but Samsung said at the time the fact that the actual product could be different dimensioned … Although we didn’t expect it to be Larger .
The news comes via the ELEC trading site, which says the RGB Micro-LED TV technology will be used in an “Ultra Premium Lineup”, with several models that appear after the 115-inch TV is debuting this year.

Why this big TV will be a big deal
This is not a traditional micro-led TV. This technique acts as OLED, with each pixel generating its own light. Samsung’s RGB-microled monikes are for TVs that use a backlight and LCD panel like its QLED TVs-but backlight can show a wide range of colors, it will not just be a tint, which enables much better color depth and more effective brightness levels.
Samsung told us earlier that by using the microla rather than the mini-led backlight to these sets would deliver “three times more LEDs”, which means better brightness and more local attenuating zones for more precise control. However, it suggests that we are not really talking about LEDs that are really in line with the microled.
Still, the Techradar team has seen this type of TV in the meat, and we are very excited about the technology: While the first TVs to use it will have huge price tags, the mini-led has fallen in price and the micro-led is likely to do the same.
Hisense has announced that its first RGB background model arrives this year and will be 116 inches, so will probably also have a huge price. TCL has also confirmed plans to release a TV with this technique in 2026.
We have been told that the technology generally does not cost much more than current mini-joint backlys TVs … but not if it is stuck on over 100 inches where every TV is super animals. We will have to see if sizes can come down to something more realistic next year-orers, the current budget mini-led technique will remain dominant for a while.
