- Samsung Server has teased the existence of an SM-F761 smartphone
- No devices have this model number and it is a model number for a foldable
- The probable candidates are Galaxy Z Flip Fe or Flip 8
A new leak apparently confirms the existence of the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Fe, as Samsung himself apparently teases the device on its over-the-air software distribution servers.
The details were shared on social media by Tipster Erencan Yılmaz, who discovered that Samsung is sending software updates to a device labeled “SM-F761”-Model number that has not been awarded any official Samsung devices. What’s more because Samsung’s model numbers follow a pattern we are convinced that this is Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Fe.
They start the string with letters and numbers after the dashboard is determined by what kind of device it is. Here is the strict F761 with F usually indicates that it is a foldable, 7 that specifies that it is a Galaxy Z flip (rather than a z fold), and 61 indicating which version it is.
Z-FLIP 5 is SM-F731, Z Flip 6 is SM-F741 and therefore Z-FLIP 7 must be SM-F751. SM-F761 could then be Z-FLIP 8. However, it would be weird for Samsung to send software buildings to a device that is probably well over a year from the launch given its usual timeline.
It would leave us with this need to be a kind of new foldable, and the most likely candidate is the very rumor of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Fe – Although we usually warn with leaks while we feel sure of our prediction until Samsung does something Officially, we don’t know this for sure.
2025’s most initial telephone launch comes
In addition to teasing the existence of Samsung’s next foldable, the leak does not tell us much else – fortunately, other Galaxy Z Flip Fe leaks can help us fill the blanks.
First, it is expected to be sampled the same display as Z Flip 7, and another leak hinted that it will boast of the best Samsung-made chipset-Exynos 2500 chipset — which should help with any Galaxy AI features it offers . Although leaks have not yet confirmed the camera specifications that may be where it takes the biggest hit.
Whether it is packing weaker cameras, I think Z Flip Fe could be Samsung’s most exciting folding launch of 2025 and potentially the most exciting telephone launch of the year-Endda compared to Samsung’s tri-fold launch, which is also expected in 2025.
Although I am a firm belief that the folding design is better than Flip’s Clamshell, Flip Fe must bring something to mainstream foldable we haven’t really seen yet: Accessibility. More people who get to experience new and exciting technology will never be a bad thing, and it can bring a much needed enthusiasm for foldable who has struggled to find meaningful mainstream success.
This enthusiasm could again lead to more collapsible phone designs – with brands like Apple coming into the room with its own shooting on a folding phone, or more brands that release affordable foldable (of which there are not many at the moment).
So even though I expect the device itself to probably be a nice phone, I think it has the potential to ignite a foldable revolution if it causes the features to express right. We will have to wait and see what Samsung is cooking, but of all 2025 phone launches this is the one I want to look at.
