- Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro brings Robust Durability With IP68, Mil-Std-810H and Gorilla Glass
- Mid-Range Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Chip Handles important business assignments
- Supports a hot-swappable 10.100mAh battery and Pogo charging
Samsung has launched a new robust tablet with a 10.1 -inch Wuxga TFT LCD screen with a 16:10 image ratio, adaptive update frequency up to 120Hz and touch sensitivity for gloves under 2 mm thick and wet screen use -but not underwater.
There are not many robust tablets from larger brands, so it is great to see the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro built specifically for hard environments. It boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification for durability under extreme conditions and Gorilla glass Victus+ to protect the screen from scratches and disinfectants such as ethanol and bleach-based detergents.
Power should not be a problem as the tablet includes a 10.100mAh user-replaceable battery that supports double hot-swap, allowing a battery to be switched without turning on the device. A POGO PIN interface supports dock-based charging even though the dock is sold separately.
3.5 mm headphone jack
This is not a device aimed at competing with mainstream tablets in raw performance. It is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 7S Gen 3 -Chip, paired with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB storage, expanded via microSD up to 2 tb. This chip delivers medium-sized performance and sits under Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Series in Qualcomms Lineup.
For connection, the tablet supports 5G (SUB-6), LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC with front marking. It also supports both physical SIM and ESIM, although eSim accessibility can vary by region. Navigation is covered with GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou and QZSS, although satellite coverage may vary based on location.
The Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature that is still rarer in modern devices. Samsung retained the harbor specifically for front -line workers who depend on wired headsets where Bluetooth can be unreliable or limited.
Do not expect flagship photography from the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro. This productivity -focused tablet includes a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front facing sensor. However, it comes with an IP68-rated S-Pen for extra functionality.
With a weight of approx. 680 g also supports the tablet a USB 3.2 Type-C port, Samsung Knox and Knox Vault for improved security, an RGB light sensor and a programmable active key to quick access to custom features.
“At Samsung, we understand that Frontline professionals need technology that adapts to their fast and demanding working environments,” said Jerry Park, EVP and head of Global Mobile B2B team, MX business at Samsung Electronics.
He added the Galaxy Tab of the Active5 Pro combines “robust durability, security of business quality, trouble-free connection and intuitive AI-driven features to help companies work effectively under harsh conditions while maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime.”
Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro will be available from April 2025 with a recommended retail price of £ 769 in the UK. US prices have not yet been confirmed.
