ISLAMABAD:
Adviser to the prime minister on political affairs Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday called on the PTI to abandon its “hostile attitude” towards the state, warning that continued confrontation could undermine party founder Imran Khan’s political influence, destabilize the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and erode his public support.
Speaking to a private television channel, Sanaullah said that as a political leader in a democratic system, he felt compelled to advise Imran Khan to move away from what he described as a 13-15-year pattern of confrontation and instead engage in dialogue.
He warned that persistence with a hostile approach poses a risk to the stability of the KP government and could further damage Khan’s popularity.
Terming the confrontational stance undemocratic, Sanaullah said repeated clashes with the state invited political danger, undermined public confidence and damaged governance. He emphasized that democratic leadership required compromise and commitment, not perpetual confrontation that threatened the political status quo.
