- Fergie has no source of income as all businesses shut down
- Surprising offer from the US could be the last chance to redeem itself
- The former duchess remains in exile following Andrew’s arrest in February
Sarah Ferguson has reportedly planned to emancipate herself as the mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie suffers financial problems and reportedly has no place of her own to live.
The former Duchess of York was ousted from the royal fold in the wake of the Epstein scandal and since then had been in exile, essentially disappearing from the public eye.
In an unexpected twist, Fergie has a stunning offer on her hands that may help her out of her financial and reputational damage, according to crisis PR strategist Mitchell Jackson in New York.
That’s what the crisis manager said The sun that Fergie, who is tipped to appear as a villain in the show Traitors, could actually save her career.
“With PR, you work backwards from the target,” he explained. “What she needs now is a lifeline, financially and reputationally, and the only lifeline I see is The traitors. It is the only lifeline.”
The American reality show is hosted by Alan Cumming and sees the contestants as ‘Faithfuls’ and ‘Traitors’ as they compete to complete secret missions in the game.
“The move now is not to restore her reputation, it’s to play the villain,” Mitchell explained. “PR is poker and she’s got the villain card. She can’t play anything else. She should do it for free. That’s her only option.”
He continued: “The problem for her now is that this is actually an American scandal because it’s an American scandal, she can’t just hop on a plane and fly over here like she usually does.”
Fergie has been dropped from all her charities, all her businesses have closed and she has been kicked out of the royal fold, even with her two daughters keeping their distance.
There had been talk of her writing an all-encompassing book exposing the royal family, but this has not been officially confirmed. Although Fergie appears on the show, she may be able to achieve her goal much faster than writing a book.
