Sarah Jessica Parker says goodbye to the role that defined her career, Carrie Bradshaw.
Following the message of Showrunner Michael Patrick King that And like that … Ending after season 3, Parker took to his Instagram account on August 1st and then back on his 27-year-old journey with his iconic character.
“She broke hearts, heels, habits. She loved, lost, won, stumbled, jumped, came briefly and into puddles. Age, became wiser. She has made the hardest, worst and best decisions,” she began her detailed emotional posting along with mounting of photos from Sex and the city and its resuscitation series.
She continued, “traveled near and far for the new, vintage, friends and love … She had dates, drinks, lovers, a man and really great love and romances … She ran in heels. And danced with Stanford,” with reference to the late actor Willie Garson.
Parker also honored co -stars Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis, where he said, “Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte who will never be better friends.”
“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I’ve loved her most of all,” she noted.
To call the show “All Joy, Adventure, the Biggest Knit Hard Work”, Parker thanked the role crew, crew and fans and said, “It will be forever before I forget. It all. Thank you all. I love you so. I hope you love these last two episodes as much as we all do.”
