Jessica Sarrah Parker shares her and man Matthew Broderick’s wise words to their son, starting on his journey with acting.
In a recent chat with E! NewsThe Hocus Pocus Star gave some insights into the advice she and her husband Broderick gave to their eldest James Wilkie, 22.
“I really want my children to be educated in the ways that meet them,” said the actress E! NEWS SITDOWN WITH BRUCE BOZZI.
“I don’t think there’s a way to be a trained person or being equipped to be an adult and trying to fashion a life for yourself after what would be considered ‘closing college’ – let’s say 22 years old,” she continued.
In the end Sex and the city star Wishing her children should be happy with what they choose as their career.
“You want them to pursue things that are exciting and challenging and harsh and happy and to be able to ultimately take care of themselves, support themselves – emotionally, financially,” she noted, “and that they can be in the world and be a reliable person for themselves and for other people. And we talk about work like that.”
Parker, who is also the mother of twin daughters Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, 15, shared her expectation of what career her children will excel in. “I am curious to see what they all do, but I hope they feel – I hope that all young people feel – that they have choices and that there is no way.”
