- We now have a release date for Housemarques next match, Saros
- It will be launched on March 20, 2026 for PS5, with PS5 Pro improvements
- New features include a permanent progression upgrade system
On PlayStations 24 September State of Play Presentation began developer Housemarque Show with our first look at gameplay for the upcoming Roguelite Shooter Saros. And boy ever looks good.
Launch on March 20, 2026 – only six months from now – Saros has players to take on the role of Arjun Devraj (portrayed by actor Rahul Kohli) as he explores the constantly changing planet of carcosa.
Like Housemarques previous work, ReturnAt Expect a degree of procedural generation to the cards each race, and lightning-fast third-person shooters gameplay as Arjun constantly strikes between bullets and baddies.
Look at
During the GamePlay revel we find that Arjun has some extra tricks up the sleeve compared to Returnal’s Selene. With Soltari Shield, Arjun can absorb bullets to charge his equipped power weapon. When full, the weapon mentioned can be loosened for a devastating attack.
But this is far from the only new gameplay feature Saros brings to the table. One that I think could demolish Return Like my favorite PlayStation Studios -Developed Games on PS5 – not to mention one that could make the game completely more accessible – is its permanent upgrades.
Housemarque did not show much about what these permanent upgrades entail, but it showed a named ‘second chance.’ As the name suggests, this allows you to survive deadly damage once so you can continue your race with some restored health. IN Return, Death felt in particular with punishing as long as it takes on average to complete a race so that having this little bit of insurance in Saros is an instant blessing.
With a quick approach on March 20th release date we don’t have to wait too much longer before Saros are in our hands at home. I look forward to learning more about the game in the upscale for launching even though I hope Housemarque loves a lot Saros Secrets close to the chest.
