Saudi -Arabia, Pakistan to strengthen defense, security relationships

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Thursday confirmed their commitment to taking the bilateral partnership to new heights and strengthening defense and security cooperation, recognizing the importance of collaboration efforts to tackle regional security challenges.

The bilateral ties and cooperation were discussed in a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi crown prince and prime minister of the Kingdom of Saudi -Arabia Mohammed bin Salman here.

The Prime Minister, who is on a four-day visit to the Kingdom, was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, head of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The meeting confirmed the strong and historical ties between Pakistan and Saudi -Arabia with discussions that focused on improving cooperation in economic, trade, investment, energy and defense sectors.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the growing economic cooperation between the two nations.

The prime minister appreciated the kingdom’s obligation to increase investment in key sectors, which would contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth and stability.

The two leaders held in -depth discussions about the developing regional situation as well as geopolitical landscape and agreed to work close to all levels to promote their common vision of peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

The Saudi Crown Prince recognized the significant contributions of Pakistani society in Saudi Arabia and agreed to improve measures to facilitate their welfare.

Both leaders emphasized the need to further strengthen people-to-people bands, cultural exchanges and educational collaboration.

The Prime Minister and the Crown Prince confirmed their obligation to raise Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Partnership to new heights, governed by mutual respect, common interests and a common vision of progress and prosperity.

Economic ties with Pakistan

At a separate meeting, Saudi Arabia’s Investment Minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz al Faleh expressed the country’s interest in elaborating on economic ties with Pakistan.

Bilateral economic cooperation was discussed when PM Shehbaz met Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al Faleh and head of the joint Taskforce for Economic Engagement Mohammad Al Tuwaijri during the four-day visit.

The discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation, attracting Saudi investments and accelerating joint initiatives in key sectors.

After expanding the best wishes to the Kingdom’s leadership, the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s obligation to facilitate Saudi investors and highlight the country strategic attitude and investment -friendly policies.

He emphasized Pakistan’s enormous potential in energy, infrastructure, agriculture and technology and invited Saudi companies to explore opportunities under SIFC.

Saudi -Investing Minister Khalid Al Faleh and head of Task Force Mohammad Al Tuwaijri expressed Saudi -Arabia’s strong interest in elaborating on economic ties with Pakistan.

They discussed improvement in institutional collaboration to accelerate investment projects and ensure their smooth implementation.

The meeting emphasized both nations’ obligation to promote a long -term, mutually advantageous financial relationship.

PM in Madina

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Madina Munawara on Thursday. Upon arrival in Madina Munawara, Governor Madina Prince Salman Bin Sultan Al-Saud received the Prime Minister at the airport.

He pays his respect at Roza-E-Rasool from Hazrat Muhammad (peace be with him) and offer prayers and Nawafil in Masjid-E-Nabwi. He will offer special prayers about Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
