SC rejects video-link murder trial

Islamabad:

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an agreement between the heirs and the defendant through the video link in a murder case.

A bench with three members led by Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi heard the question of consent between the defendants and heirs in a murder case.

During the hearing, justice noted Rizvi that it could not be confirmed through video link whether the heirs of the deceased entered into consent under pressure or of their own free will.

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan noted that unless the relatives of the deceased appear in the court’s court and confirm consent, there is no consent.
