School assistant arrested for bribery

A retired teacher accuses senior assistant Salman Memon of demanding Rs80,000 to process her pension documents

HYDERABAD:

A special team of the Anti-Corruption Establishment, Hyderabad, raided Government Miran School, Hirabad, and arrested Senior Secretary Salman Memon and Naib Qasid Noor Muhammad while ‘accepting bribe’.

According to anti-corruption sources, a retired teacher, Sehar Bano, had filed a written complaint stating that senior assistant Salman Memon had demanded and received Rs 80,000 on October 1, 2025, to process documents related to her gratuity and other pension approvals. She further claimed that another Rs800,000 had been collected from her at different times.

The complainant stated that in the final stages of the process, the clerk continued to harass her and forced her to produce an advance check of Rs.450,000, threatening that if she failed to pay the amount, he would file a case against her and not release her service book.

After receiving the complaint, the Anti-Corruption Department initiated an investigation and conducted a raid in the presence of the Civil Judge concerned. During the operation, Senior Secretary Salman Memon and Naib Qasid Noor Muhammad were caught red-handed with the check and cash allegedly received as bribe.
