School Officer seems to advise parents on trans athletes on changing birth certificate to play girls sports

A school district administrator in Texas was seen encouraging parents to make false changes in their child’s birth certificate so they would qualify to play in girls’ sports as a biological man, according to a recently released video.

The footage shows a man, allegedly Raid Lizardo, who acts as CEO of Campus Operations for Irving Independent School District, who tells an undercover journalist that “it is not illegal if you are not caught” in terms of documenting a child’s birth Certificate of undermining Texas State Law that prevents trans athletes from competing in girls’ sports.

“Could you legally change the gender of a birth certificate? I don’t know enough about that topic,” he says, according to video obtained by accuracy in the media. “If you can get it done and you turn us a birth certificate that says ‘this gender’, that’s the gender we go with.”

When asked if a hypothetical trans -athlete had gendered on a birth certificate changed to female and would be able to then play on the girls’ football team, the man allegedly identified as Lizardo, “Yes.” He also says that the school district could invoke plausible discretion if the athlete’s birth decree was uncovered and led to a trial.

“If a parent found out, or a student found out and said, ‘Wait for a moment. This person is not this gender,’ and they defend like the district we would have trouble. But we can say too, ‘ We did not know ‘… so there is a plausible discretion, I assume,’ He is seen that he says before he suggests that their conversation is not talked about again.

“Me and you’ve never had this conversation.”

In June 2023, Texas Save Women’s Sports Act, which prohibits trans -athletes, adopted to compete in girls and women’s sports, and only allow students to compete in the gender category listed on their birth certificate. The law only allows schools to recognize changes made for birth certificates made to correct a spiritual error.

Texas is one of 25 states in the United States that has a law in place to prevent or limit trans athletes from competing against girls and women, and a national bill is currently passing through Congress.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott approached the recordings involving Lizardo in a post of X, calling for him to be fired and investigated criminally.

“This Irving ISD administrator should be fired on site. Both criminals and civilian investigations should be taken against both the administrator and Irving ISD,” Abbott wrote. “Has Irving ISD and its employees been involved in a fraudulent violation of the state’s laws and a cover? We must get facts.”

The American Representative House Passed Protection of women and girls in the Sports Act on January 14, which would reduce federal funding to any public educational institution that allows trans athletes to compete against girls and women in sports.

Each Republican representative voted for the Bill, but only two Democrats, Reps. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas and Vicente Gonzales, D-Texas, voted to pass it. The remaining 206 house Democrats everyone Voted against. Rep. Don Davis, DN.C., voted “Present.”

A recent New York Times/Ipsos Survey Found the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, do not think transnry athletes should be allowed to compete in women’s sports. Of the 2,128 people who were examined, 79% biological men who identify themselves as women said should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports. Of the 1,025 people who identified themselves as a Democrat or inclined Democrat, 67%said transnry athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.
