Fly crash the death of dirt track racing legend Scott Bloomquist in August last year was controlled a suicide, according to a National Transport Safety Board (NTSB) report published this week.
Bloomquist, 60, died in a small plane crash down a barn near his home in Mooresburg, Tennessee, August 16, 2024.

NTSB erected the probable cause of Bloomquist’s death as “the pilot’s intentional flight to a building as a suicide act” according to Fox Sports.
Bloomquist’s family released a statement to Fox Sports when the NTSB report came out.
“At this time, the family to Scott Bloomquist does not give any public statements regarding the aircraft accident or the recent NTSB finds,” Bloomquist’s family said. “They are focused on supporting each other and respectfully requesting privacy when navigating this difficult period.

Bloomquist rose to fame in the 1980s, but his career started in the 1990s. He especially won the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion in 2009, 2010 and 2016 and was introduced to the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame as a member of his second class in 2002.

He had more than 600 wins in his career and had the most victories in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with 60.
