“To have the president here it has been a tough couple of weeks for our country with some of the things that have been going on and to have our president here and for us to represent the United States of America, albeit in a golf tournament, is extremely important to us, and we are happy to be at home with the home audience, and we are ready to have this tournament begun,
Scheffler also revealed that he has spoken to Trump after some of his great victories on the field and praised him as someone who “loves the golf game” and “treats people with the utmost respect.”
“I get a call or text from him sometimes after victories. He just loves the golf game and he’s one of those guys when you’re around him, he’s doing such a good job of giving birth to everyone around him,” Scheffler said.
“It was one of the things I noticed a lot with the little time I spent with him is that he treats everyone the same and treats people with the utmost respect. Whether you are the person who serves us lunch or caddy on the golf course or the guy who is president of the club that we are on, he treats everyone as they are the greatest person in the world.”

Team United States Captain Keegan Bradley added, “I am deeply honored that the president of the United States is going to support our team in the Ryder Cup. I think anytime you can be around a current president is a pretty phenomenal thing, but when you represent your country at a place like Bethpage Black in New York, it is to have the president there to support tirelessly.
He also broke some news about the president’s plans in the process.
“I really look forward to how the first tee will be with the president at TEE. I think this first tee on Bethpage will be a sporting event that should be across any sport, and then you add the president of the United States standing there, I really think it will be something that everyone will remember forever.”
