Corsair’s Scuf Gaming brand has just launched its new Valor Pro Wireless Controller.
Compatible with Xbox Series X, Series, Xbox One, PC and Bluetooth-enabled devices, it seems to be an improved version of the original Valor Pro launched earlier this year.
Available now for $ 189.99 (approximately £ 139.99) on the Scufs Website and other retailers, the most obvious change here is the addition of wireless connection. Scuf claims that Valor Pro Wireless has up to 17 hours of battery life, which is not the most impressive out there, but beats like Razer Wolverine V3 Pro and its 10-12 hour battery life on paper.
Valor Pro Wireless also adds drift-resistant TMR-Tumbsticks. We’ve seen these with like 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 and Gamesir Tarantula Pro, and they are essentially a slightly more potent Hall Effect variant.
In addition to four resilient back paddles (which can be removed and/or non-mapped by your preference), one of Valor Pro Wireless’s most interesting features is its new built-in audio control.
These come in the form of a pair of roller wheels at the bottom of the pillow, in a similar position as the function paddles on the DualSense edge. Couples with a game of headset and you can use these to adjust the headset volume, games and chat balance and dampen your microphone.
It sounds like Valor Pro Wireless is doing a lot of what many of the best Xbox controllers offer, and at a rather competitive price point that slightly undermines them like Razer Wolverine V3 Pro and Nacon Revolution x Unlimited.
As such, it can be a compelling option for Xbox and PC players who want to pay a little less for a premium controller.
