Donaldson’s team would be led by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos and also consists of Brian Steel, who has represented Young Thug during his Rico Law case in Georgia.

NEAMA RAHMANI, a lawyer in California not involved in the case told PEOPLE Magazine, “It is not uncommon to add lawyers in a long and complex case like this, even on the threshold of the trial.”

“Combs have almost unlimited money and the trial will last for weeks, so the defense may need the extra firepower. Some of the lawyers can also handle the appeal whose chambers are convicted and not the trial itself,” she added further.

For the un -emergency, Sean “Diddy” Combs, currently detained, is set to appear for trial on May 5 in Manhattan Federal Court due to charges of sex trade, racketing and transport to participate in prostitution.

If proven guilty, he could potentially serve the sentence of life imprisonment.
