Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs receives new stroke as Judge refuses a key request

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs would have more time to prepare for his trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ request to delay his trial has been denied by the court in a new battle for the disgraceful rapper.

On Friday, April 18, Judge Arun Subramanian Diddy’s attorney’s request for the trial of the trial was delayed by two months, per. US weekly.

As a result, the trial begins on its scheduled date, May 5, which coincides with Met Gala. Jury selection takes place that day, with opening declarations expected on Monday, May 12.

The music mogul fell from grace when he was arrested on federal charges of racketing conspiracy, sex trade with power, fraud or coercion and transport to participate in prostitution in September 2024.

The rapper refused all charges and his lawyer Marc Agnifilo said he was “an imperfect person” but “not a criminal.”

“Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts,” said Agnifilo. “These are the actions of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Since his arrest, many new civilian litigation has been brought against Diddy claiming sexual violence.

This decision comes after Diddy’s attorneys submitted a proposal to demand that the trial be delayed by two months so that the rapper could have “the necessary time to prepare his defense” after a third revised indictment was filed.

His legal team claimed that there is “significantly new behavior” alleged in the revised indictment and that the prosecutors still provided evidence in one of the counts.

“In those circumstances … we can’t in good conscience go to trial on the planned date,” argued Diddy’s lawyers. “This is a problem that the government has set up, yet it is against our reasonable request.”
