Islamabad:
Rescue teams have not yet found the bodies of a father and daughter who were swept away by flooding water in a private housing community in Islamabad.
The search operation continued another day when Pakistan Army Divers and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) teams participating in the efforts.
The incident happened on Tuesday morning when a vehicle bearing the victims was washed away by a flash river inside the private housing community. On the second day of the rescue operation, staff from the Pakistani Army, PDMA, rescue 1122, CDA and other departments participated.
Search team covered a 12 km stretch of the Soan River using boats and other equipment to find the missing vehicle. The strong streams in the river and its connection drains inhibited the rescue effort.
Hurks equipped with metal detectors performed searches from boats, while heavy machinery and spotlight were also used along the river bank.
