Pakistan’s security forces killed 16 terrorists trying to infiltrate through the border between Pakistan-Afghanistan, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed Sunday. The clash took place during the night of 22 to 23 March, when security forces discovered the movement of a group of terrorists, referred to as "Khwarij," Trying to cross into Pakistan near Ghulam Khan Kallay in North Waziristan.
"Own troops engaged effectively and prevented their attempts to infiltrate. After an intense exchange of fire, all sixteen Khwarij was sent to hell," ISPR said. Pakistan has repeatedly called on Afghanistan’s temporary government to improve border security and prevent its land from being used for attacks against Pakistan. “The preliminary Afghan government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of its territory of militants,” the statement added. ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces are obliged to protect the nation’s borders and eliminate the threat of terrorism.
