The Senate Senate Committee on Human Rights on Thursday approved a bill to establish a commission for minority rights in accordance with the United Nations standards and international regulations.

The meeting was led by Senator Ali Zafar. The proposed commission will be tasked with assessing and monitoring the implementation of constitutional guarantees and protecting the promotion and protection of minority rights.

It will also review existing or proposed policies or programs aimed at preventing discrimination and protecting minority societies while providing relevant recommendations to affected departments.
