The Senate on Friday passed the Railways Transfer (Amendment) Bill, 2025 with certain amendments proposed by Senator Farooq H Naek.
Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi moved the bill further to amend the Railways Transfer Ordinance, 1962 [The Transfer of Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2025]as reported by the Standing Committee of the House.
Farooq H Naek proposed certain amendments to the Bill which were passed by the House.
From the purpose and rationale of the bill, it appears that certain changes have been proposed to the Railway Transfer Order, 1962 (PO No. 33 of 1962) through the Railway Transfer Order (Amendment), 2025 (X of 2025), presented as a bill.
