Voting for the Senate elections is in full swing in both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab assemblies, with a total of 36 seats up to grips over both regions.
In Punjab, Polling started at. 9 and is expected to continue until 1 p.m. 16.00. The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated Chief Whip Rana Arshad as her choice, where opposition members like Rana Shahbaz represent the opposition’s interests.
Meanwhile, you compete a total of 25 candidates for 11 Senate seats, including 7 general seats, 2 technocrat seats and 2 women’s seats.
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) and opposition parties, including Jamat Disadvantaged Disadvantage, (Jui-F), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), field their candidates for these seats.
Election officials have confirmed that the early reports have been cast 130 votes in the Punjab assembly out of 369 total members.
Media coverage has been limited to election rooms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a heavy police presence that ensures the election of the election.
The Election Commission has also stated that candidates who retire after 1 p.m. 12 on Sunday, their names will be listed on the ballot with a “retired” stamp to denote their withdrawal.
