Chinese technological development has overtaken the West in key areas, including defense, artificial intelligence and green innovation, according to comments by Senator Mushahid Hussain, a high -level global dialogue in Beijing says.
Speaking at the opening of the global political parties dialogue on ”Asia in a world’s changing world“Senator Mushahid said China had become a “scientific superpower” and reshaped the global dynamics that were not through conquest but by peaceful economic development.
“China surpasses the West in key sectors, from J10C fighters and deeply searching AI for electric vehicles,” said Mushahid, quoting a recent Economist Cover story. He framed the trend as part of the wider ‘Rise of the East’, where Asia emerged as the new global center of gravity.

The conference hosted the International Department of the Communist Party in China (IDCPC) in Beijing.
In a striking geopolitical claim, Mushahid also described China as “part of South Asia” and “a source of stability in the region” and noticed his peaceful relations with almost all neighbors despite having borders with 14 countries. He emphasized that the border conflict should not define bilateral connections and must be resolved peacefully.
The panel also included senior political figures, including IDCPC minister Liu Jianchao, the former Thai speaker Bokin Balakula and former Mongolian Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar.
