Rawalpindi:
Seven terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) by the security forces of Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Sunday.
It said the three “Khwarij” expression used for terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)-was killed overnight in IBOS, performed in Maddi General Area of Dera Ismail Khan and another four in Mir Ali General Area in North Waziristan.
“The night of February 8-9, 2025, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the ordinary area of Maddi, Dera Ismail Khan district on the reported presence of Khwarij,” the ISPR, the media wing of the military, said in his statement.
“During the performance of Operation, his own troops effectively engaged the KHWARIJ location, as a result of three Khwarij, including Kharji Rehmat, was sent to hell while two Khwarij was injured,” the statement added.
“Another intelligence -based operation was performed in the ordinary area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan’s district. In subsequent fire exchange, four Khwarij was effectively neutralized by the security forces, while three Khwarij was injured,” the statement states.
According to ISPR, sanitization operations were carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, adding that the security forces in Pakistan were determined to wipe out the threat of terrorism from the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful IBOs and eliminated seven terrorists. In a statement, Shehbaz said “the whole nation greets our forces”.
