President Asif Ali Zardari awarded Pakistan’s highest civilian awards to several distinguished citizens, including the late former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, in recognition of their expertise, contributions and remarkable results across different areas.
In a prestigious ceremony held in Aiwan-I-sadr, President Asif Ali Zardari Pakistan’s highest civilian honor, Nishan-E-Pakistan, awarded the deceased former prime minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. His daughter, Sanam Bhutto, received the award on his behalf and marked a significant moment in the country’s history.
The ceremony participating in remarkable figures such as Senate President Yousuf Raza Gilani, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zze-Zoni celebrated those who have made remarkable contributions in different areas.
Among the Honore was Air Marshal (Retd.) Raja Shahid Hamid, who was posted to Nishan-E-Imtiaz for his exemplary service. Sultan Ali Akbar Allana received Nishan-E-Khidmat for his effective work in the financial sector.
Hilal-E-Imtiaz was awarded to several individuals for their extraordinary contributions, including Javed Jabbar for Literature, Allah Rakhi Shaheed for her Service for Education, and Dr. Syed Tauqeer Hussain Shah for his expertise in civil service.
Syed Ali Haider Gilani was recognized for his public service and Hussain Dawood was honored for his philanthropic efforts. Sadia Rashid also received Hilal-E-Imtiaz for her important work in the education sector.
Further honors were awarded to Khawaja Anwar Majeed for Social Work, and Professor Dr. Shehryar and Dr. Zaryab for their results in medicine.
Amir Hafeez Ibrahim was awarded for his contributions to science and that, while Jimmy Engineer was celebrated for his excellent social services. Umar Farooq was also recognized for his continuous dedication to public service.
