Shannon Sharpe temporarily goes away from ESPN after being charged with sexual assault and battery in a $ 50 million trial filed on Sunday.
Sharpe, who has denied all accusations against him, released a statement on Thursday.
“My statement exists here and this is the truth. That relationship was 100% consensus. At this point, I temporarily choose to go aside from my ESPN assignments,” Sharpe wrote in a statement.

“I want to devote this time to my family and respond and deal with these fake and disturbing accusations set against me. I plan to return to ESPN at the start of the NFL Preseason.
“I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming and ongoing support I have received from my family, fans, friends and colleagues.”
