“All questions have now been addressed satisfactorily and the case is closed. The trial will thus be rejected with prejudice.”
Sharpe originally called the allegations “false and disturbing” when the trial was filed in April. The woman claimed that Sharpe was dealing with the intentional application of emotional distress and later assaulted her twice, once in October 2024 and in January 2025.
Sharpe stepped away from his tasks in ESPN April 24, but promised to return at the NFL’s season. He also called the trial a “shaking” and a “obvious setup” by Buzbee and the prosecutor.

Sharpe’s lawyer, Lanny J. Davis, previously revealed a number of text messages allegedly from the applicant, as he says showed a consensus relationship. Davis claims that the relationship involved “fantasy” and “role -playing games.”
Davis released a lengthy statement that Sharpe shared in his social media accounts. In the message, Davis shared the sexually explicit messages.

Sharpe also released a video on X before Davis’ news conference, in which he called the prosecutor’s legal act a “shaker.” He also mentioned that Buzbee planned to release an edited sex band to support his client’s claims.
“This is a shakedown. I want to be open, transparent and defend me because this is not right. This is all orchestrated by Tony Buzbee,” Sharpe said. “Tony Buzbee is targeted at black men and I think he will release a 30-second clip of a sex band trying to make me look guilty and play in any stereotype you might imagine.”
Buzbee released a statement following Sharpe’s video message and Davis’ press conference, confirming the latter comments on the previously proposed settlement. He also denied that any video of the plaintiff was changed and said that Sharpe’s claim was “demonstrably false, but also desperate.”

“An incredibly damn video actually exists,” buzbee added in his statement. “The contents of this video talk to Bind of Mr. Sharpe and his behavior. This video that will be played to the jury is extremely problematic for Mr. Sharpe. Sharpes Team, which I expected, revealed the existence of this video in an attempt to try to get ahead of it. This effort falls flat.”
Buzbee is known for negotiating settlements for the women who accused Cleveland Brown’s Quarterback Deshaun Watson for sexual assault.
