Shaquille O’Neal’s son sets sights on NCAA Transfer Portal: Report

Shaqir O’Neal, son of Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, has made a big decision on his basketball future.

Shaqir leaves Florida A&M and enters the NCAA transfer portal, reported on3.

If he transfers, O’Neal would end his career in Tallahassee after starting 17 of 29 games.

O’Neal appeared in 41 games in his time with Tigers, starting in two matches. He was listed as a three-star high school recruits, according to his bio on Florida A & M’s athletics site.

Shaq won four NBA championships and was a 15-time all-star during his great career. His second son, Shaereef, played at UCLA and LSU before a stint in the NBA G League.

In 2023, Shaq’s youngest child, Me’arah O’Neal, signed his national intention contract to play for Florida Gators. She made his debut with Florida in the 2024-25 season and recorded a career hill 19 points in a game against Arkansas in February.
