We review dozens of fans every year at Techradar, and I use our findings to put together our official best fan ranking. This summer there is a new fan on top: Shark FlexBreeze.
If you are looking for a gadget that helps you beat the heat you would struggle to do better than this. The main reason why it snagged # 1 -site was because of its versatility. This fan can be used as a pedestal or worktop model, wiring or wireless, indoors or outside. It gives you a whole lot of cooling options.
Since most of us do not use fans often, it makes sense to invest in someone who meets all your cooling needs. This guy can follow you outside for more comfortable al fresco dining, sit on your bedside table at night or stand high in the corner of the room and swing to fill the whole room with a breeze.
There is even a fog attachment, although if it is your priority, you might choose a slightly different model (I’ll get on them next).
The model that sits in pole position in my location is the original shark flexbreeze fan. However, in that time since the launched model, Shark has come out with a whole fleet of flexbreezes with slightly different designs and USPS. There is now:
My other favorite is probably Shark FlexBreeze Hydroo, a portable version that has a handle and a built -in losing connection to a small water tank. For more sturdy fog, choose Pro Mist, which has a water tank included (the original model must be connected to a water source to work, which is a bit impractical if you want to use it regularly).
Do you want something a little different?
Versatile Although it may be, FlexBreeze does not fit everyone’s needs.
Here are my best choices in a few different fan categories …
Top Tower
Dreo Smart Tower Fan 519s
If you want something to sit permanently in the corner of a room, a tower fan is a good choice. This one is powerful and comes with a number of useful smart features that are accessed via a companion app.

Best Bladeless
The cool CF1 is slim and underrated without blades to collect dust or lure curious fingers. It is also very powerful, yet extremely quiet and can be tilted to direct the airflow.

Air circulator
An air circulator can be used as a regular fan, or it can sit next to an A/C unit to effectively spread the cold air around the room. This Meaco model is simple but very effective and accessible in Piedestal or Desktop versions.
