Shedeur Sanders had a historic and unprecedented free fall in the NFL draft last week, and history has dominated sports media ever since.

ESPNS “COLLEGE GAMEDAY” hosted Davis weighs on whether the media is protective or even afraid of Sanders, but also his legendary father, Colorado Coach Deion, too.

“I’m sure some are. I think that when you paint with a wide brush like the one, you don’t recognize the fact that there will be some people who are and some who aren’t,” Davis said during a recent performance on Outkicks “Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich.”

“And I think the flip side of that is, I think there are also people who are predisposed for not rooting for him and liking any little thing you may not like.”

Davis said there are people in sports media trying to protect Deion and Shedeur, while others may be too critical.

“But I don’t think you can say that all sports media is trying to protect Deion and Shedeur, just as I think it would be unfair if you chose a few guys who say (Shedur) isn’t good enough, Deion made XY and Z for him, and that’s the only reason he’s in this place I think it’s unfair,” Davis said.
