Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) leader and member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shehryar Afridi has denied reports that the PTI founder had decided to remove senior party leader Sher Afzal Marwat. He added, “He has served the party well and we will talk to the PTI founder about him.”
In a speech with the media outside Peshawar High Court on Thursday, Afridi said: “PTI founder did not discuss removing Sher Afzal Marwat in my presence. He has made significant contributions to the party and has always responded when asked. ”
With reference to the events on November 26, he said the whole nation witnessed what happened and that PTI’s leadership always advocates the rule of law.
“The supremacy of the law ensures a country’s life. We will continue to stand for the Constitution and the law, ”he added, criticizing stakeholders for giving up promises made to tribal communities.
Afridi also condemned what he called state oppression of PTI in Punjab, citing section 144 throughout the province on February 8. Despite restrictions, he claimed, he voted for PTI and rejected other parties.
He also claimed that PTI leaders and workers were subjected to unfair prison and violence. “These actions weaken Pakistan,” he warned.
The PTI leader also accused the federal government of withholding development funds for kohat and called for entity in maintaining legal supremacy. “Why is a Legal Commission not forming? What is the obstacle? “He asked.
