Sher Afzal Marwat, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), has rejected media reports suggesting that the party’s founder refused to meet him and called the claims false and misleading.

In a speech with the media outside Parliament on Friday, Marwat managed that the latest news that the PTI founder had blocked his meeting request was completely untrue.

He also expressed his solidarity with the media about the issue of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA) and criticized the false narrative that was spread.

He said some people on social media claim to be associated with PTI, but in reality they follow the agenda of Adil Raja. These people make an injustice to both PTI and Imran Khan by spreading false information, he claimed.

PTI leader made it clear that if Imran Khan ever tells him that his support is no longer needed, he would not even throw a shadow over him. He also requested the media to verify statements with him before issuing them when such misinformation harms his followers, voters and his community.

Marwat emphasized that such baseless rumors only create unnecessary resentment among his followers to Khan and PTI, while he emphasized that his sense of self -respect was far more valuable to him than engaging in such misleading discussions.

As for the ongoing negotiations, he said, “I think the process is far from over, as Imran Khan said, if the government agrees to form a commission, we are ready to return to the negotiating table.”

In a strong statement, Marwat claimed that he would now distance himself from the media for a while and refer to the harmful influence of fake news on his reputation.
