Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Senator Shibli Faraz has said he had no knowledge of any directives issued by the party’s founding chairman Imran Khan to award a task for negotiations with the establishment.

In a speech with journalists at Islamabad High Court on Thursday, Faraz said, “I haven’t met the PTI founder for six months. Despite court decisions, we won’t be allowed to meet him,” Express News reported.

He added, “Until I hear it directly from him, I can’t comment on any speculation.”

His remarks come in the midst of conflicting reports after a reported meeting between Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Information Advisor Barrister Saif in Adiala Prison earlier this week.

According to sources, the two helpers Khan convinced to agree on conversations with the establishment and were tasked with initiating backchannel contacts.

However, PTI Central Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Acram denied that such a directive had been issued.

Faraz ‘comments repeat this attitude. He emphasized the need to respect legal decisions and noted that the Adiala Prison Superintendent was allegedly ignored decisions from three different judges.

Meanwhile, answered a question about the resignation of senior PTI leader Hamad Azhar from his party cheese, expressed Faraz regrets and called Azhar “a trained leader” and dismissed talk of internal groups within the party and managed that Azhar did not leave PTI.

“There is no disagreement with the founder’s personality or decisions,” he said.

“Every province has its own political context and realities,” he added, suggesting that internal affairs should not invite interference from other regions.

Earlier, Shibli Faraz declared that his party will continue his political struggle for judicial appointments and hinted at the formation of a new alliance among opposition parties.

In a speech with the media outside Peshawar High Court on Tuesday, Faraz said a country cannot work without justice. “When there is no justice, the public loses faith in the courts,” he said.

He criticized the current legal appointment process and claimed that it is clear that the judges are appointed on the basis of favorites.

“The way the judges are clearly appointed indicates that their loyalty lies with those in power,” he added.

He also said that if the institutions responsible for delivering justice become weak, the public feels uncertain, and under such conditions the national progress and prosperity cannot be achieved.

Faraz also confirmed that PTI would continue his political struggle over the issue of judicial appointments and that an opposition alliance would soon be formed. “Without justice, a country cannot move on,” he concluded.
