Hollow Knight: Silksong Is a hard game, maybe a little too hard for some people’s taste, but what if there was a way to make your first playthrough even more difficult?
Since hundreds of thousands of players have flowed to the long -awaited Silk song For the first time this week, a user on the game’s subbreddit has discovered that the undamaged hard ‘Steel Soul’ mode can actually be unlocked with a good ol ‘cheat code.
Usually (and as was the case with the first Hollow Knight), Steel soul mode unlocking when you’ve beaten the game for the first time. On a steel raw playthrough, death is permanent, making your saved file completely useless if the horn kicks the bucket. And yes, there are results that are linked to clearing steel council mode (one of which requires 100% gaming ending because I assume Team Cherries is sick like that).
So let’s say that you are somehow unhappy with Silksongs Relatively high level of difficulty and you will jump into steel soul mode immediately. You can do this by entering a small variation of the iconic ‘Konami code’ in Game’s Extras menu.
In the extremular mm just have to enter Up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right on your controller or keyboard. The screen is blinking and Steel Soul will unlock prematurely. I tested this myself and it actually works; The next time you go to start a new Save file, you have the option of choosing Steel Soul Mode before you begin your new Playthrough.
It goes without saying that I would definitely not recommend Steel Soul to your first playthrough.
