The Sindh Education Department’s Management Committee announced on Thursday that all public and private educational institutions across the province will remain closed from December 22 to 31 for this year’s winter vacation.
The spokesperson added that schools will reopen as normal on January 1, 2026, while additional investigations by education boards continue as planned over the holiday period.

Earlier, the Punjab School Education Department officially confirmed the winter vacation schedule across all government and private schools in the province. The announcement came following directives from provincial education minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
In a formal notification, the department revealed that the winter vacation would begin from December 22, 2025 and run till January 10, 2026. During this period, all schools remained closed due to the annual winter vacation.
“The schedule was finalized keeping in mind weather patterns and the convenience of students and parents,” Hayat said. The break was intended to give students relief from the expected harsh winter conditions.
Academic activities across Punjab were to resume from January 12, 2026, according to the notification. The department directed all school administrations to ensure full compliance with the holiday schedule issued, ensuring a smooth transition when schools reopen.
