Karachi:
The Sindh government on Monday issued a notification of expanding the last date to acquire the new NUMB plates for vehicles from August 14 to 31 October.
The message came a few hours after Sindh -Point Tax and Tax Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla said on the Sindh assembly floor that the Sindh government might consider expanding the date of new license plates.
The new license plates with AJRAK -Design have special features, which according to the government can be read by the surveillance cameras in the SAFE City project.
In response to a call of calling from MQM member Qurat-Ul-Ain Khan during Monday’s Sindh collection session, he said the new records are applicable across Sindh and enforcement will be strict everywhere.
He mentioned that the new license plates were introduced in 2021, and within two to three months new centers will be created in Korangi, Site Area and Gulde-E-Iqbal. Qurat-Ul-Ain Khan pointed out that the enforcement is slack in rural areas, while carachi residents are unnecessarily targeted. “The given time limit is too short and the public faces serious difficulties. The government has to consider,” she said.
Therefore, the deadline has been extended by the government.
The Sindh assembly has unanimously adopted a decision to pay tribute to martyred police officers. The resolution was presented by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member Farooq Awan, who called on the Sindh government to provide healthcare, education and a special distribution package to the families to the police partner.
Homemade Minister Sindh Zia-Ul-Hassan Lanjar supported the decision and said, “Today is the police day and the decision is of great importance in the house. On the same day, the Inspector General for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa martyrs laid.
He said he had personally visited the Katcha areas where police officers are bravening performing operations against terrorists. These areas are so difficult to access that even APCs (armored staff carriers) are stuck, yet the police staff remains decisive. “
Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani also supported the decision and said that Farooq Awan’s services are part of the story. “He was attacked, but returned to the field with renewed dedication,” he said. Ghani also highlighted the police’s needs for modern weapons and technology, pointing out that “terrorists have access to advanced weapons and facilities that the police do not.”
He paid tribute to the victims of the Pakistani army, rangers and intelligence agencies and noted that peace has only been achieved through their joint efforts.
Opposition leader Ali Khursheedi also honored the police and other security force martyrs as a source of national pride and said, “We must equip the police with modern weapons so that they can perform their tasks effectively.”
