Sindh -Government takes control of Green and Orange Line Bus services

The operational control of Green Line and Orange Line Bus Services has officially been handed over to the Sindh government.

A ceremony for the transfer of the operational command and control of Green Line and Orange Line Bus Services was held at the Operational Command and Control Center in Garden, Karachi. CEO for Pidcl, Wasim Bajwa, handed over control to transport secretary Asad Zamin, Express News reported.

The event participated in MD for Sindh Mass Transit Authority, Kamal Dayo, together with officials from Orange Line and Green Line Brt Systems.

During the apartment, Sindh’s senior minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, approached the collection and stated that the transfer of the green line and orange line to the Sindh government is an important step towards further organization of the public transport network.

The Sindh government is obliged to improve and secure the sustainability of the bus connection to provide the best travel facilities to citizens. “We will work to improve the benefit of bus connections using modern technology and regular maintenance,” he added.

SHARJEEL MEMON also mentioned that a comprehensive and effective city transport system is being developed for Karachi. The work is in the process of plans to connect both BRT lines with other public transport systems.

Last week, SINDH Mass Transit Authority Board approved the acquisition of the control of the Green Line and Orange Line Brt at his 14 meeting, led by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

Discussions were held about sending the documents related to Green Line and Orange Line BRT agreements to the Legal Validation Department. It was approved to preserve the existing human resource structure of the green and orange line BRT for three months.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has announced an extension in Peoples Bus Service operations in Ramadan, with buses running until 1 p.m. 1 from the 15th of the Holy Month.

Sindh -Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the extended hours would apply to key routes including R1, R2, R3, R4, R9, R10 and EV1.

He noted that the decision was made to meet the needs of Karachi residents who depend on public transport.
