Sindh -ministers visit the Chinese EV Giant Chery in Wuhu

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Provincial Minister of Planning and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah visited the headquarters of Chinese car company Chery Holdings Group in Wuhu, China, China.

After their arrival at the Chery Holdings Group, they were warmly welcomed by the chairman, Yin Tongyue.

In a meeting with Shah and Memon, Chairman Yin Tongyue Chery Holdings’ decision on sustainable development of electric vehicles and alternative energy projects repeated.

Memon and Shah paid tribute to Chery’s initiative and again expressed Pakistan’s decision to improve such collaborations in an attempt to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

They called such collaborations as imperative to drive energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in Pakistan. Due to the initiatives from MEMON, Chery Holdings Group has accepted to create charging stations with electric vehicles throughout Sindh.

Memon said an EV charging station will be established every fifty kilometer across all districts in Sindh. He added that these charging stations will greatly benefit owners of electric motorcycles, cars and trucks.

He said that the transport system in Sindh is being modernized and that their vision is to promote environmentally friendly electric vehicles. Chery Holdings Group has confirmed that EV charging stations will be built in Sindh.

The construction of these stations will also provide job opportunities to the people of Sindh. Apart from this, a mounting system for the EV Mini trucks in Karachi is established.

Memon said that the creation of charging stations and assembly plants will create employment opportunities for the local population and make electric vehicles available at affordable prices.

Shah said Chinese investors have insured full cooperation on solar energy projects in rural areas in Sindh. Solarization of homes will help reduce the energy crisis and serve as a significant milestone to promote environmentally friendly energy solutions.

He said that solar systems are delivered to poor families to help accommodate their daily energy needs. Solarization of homes will enable ordinary people to meet their electricity requirements.

Shah said that solarization of homes will help the ordinary man save on expensive electricity bills and reduce problems such as strain load.

It will also increase the local economy, create new employment opportunities and contribute to the socio -economic development of rural areas.
