Senior Sindh minister, SHARJEEL INAM MEMON, announced that two new gyms in Karachi – at Zulfiqarabad Oil Thoughts -Terminal in Malir and Ibrahim Hyderi in Korangi – have begun to perform physical inspections of commercial vehicles.

These centers are equipped with advanced tools and manned by skilled technical teams to ensure that vehicles meet safety standards before fitness certificates are issued by motor vehicle inspectors.

“With the introduction of this online system, we aim to a paper -free office environment, better revenue management and elimination of false documentation,” Memon said.

He emphasized that the new system covers the provincial transport authority, regional transport authority and regional transport authorities that marked a major reform in the department.

In the initial phase, 63 vehicles were inspected in the new centers where 30 vehicles were issued fitness certificates and 33 vehicles were considered unfit.

The second phase will expand this service to other division headquarters across Sindh.

MEMON added that online issuing of route permits and fitness certificates ensures greater transparency and makes the whole process more responsible.

The new system includes modern security features that enable immediate on -site vehicle verification.
