Six killed when the bus throws itself down in the gap

At least six people were killed and 38 other -inclusive women and children -when a passenger bus threw itself into a gorge near the Chakri exchange on the M -2 motorway. The accident was allegedly caused by faster on slippery roads in the middle of rainy weather.

According to details, a passenger bus carrying 43 passengers was on its way to Multan from Rawalpindi; However, when it was near the Chakri exchange on the M-2 motorway, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a smooth road and the bad bus fell into a gorge.

Five people died on site, while 38 others were injured and moved to the hospital. Later, one of the wounded women succumbed to her injuries. Among the wounded are women, children and the elderly. The condition of six wounded is said to be critical.

After receiving information, motorway police, rescue 1122 and other relief agencies to the stage, provided first aid to the wounded and moved them to hospitals.

Some wounded passengers claimed the driver was quick despite slippery road conditions, leading to the tragic accident.

A women’s passenger said the bus was crowded and moved at high speed, causing the crash.

According to Rescue 1122 and Motorway Police officials, five passengers died on site and 38 were injured in the accident. Among the wounded, 23 were moved to District Headquarters Hospital, Chakwal, 8 to Pims and 7 to District Headquarters Hospital, Rawal Pindi, while four organs were moved to District Headquarters Hospital, Rawalpindi and one to the district headquarters Hospital, Chakwal. Later, one of the wounded women, namely Irum Batool, bent for her injuries to the hospital and took the death toll to six.

The dead are identified as Erum Batool, Zafar Iqbal from Vihari, Samina Nasir from Mian Chunnu, Murag Faheem from Wah Cantt, Navida Nahid of Pir Mahal and Ashraf.
